Damn this book is sad. It took me two months to finish it because some days I just didn’t have it in me. But anyone who knows grief first hand will see how authentic it is in this book. And the narrator is one of the best I’ve ever heard.

I really wanted to like this, but something just left me unfulfilled. I didn’t think it really resolved in the best way. The characters knew what they needed to do to heal, but just refused and wondered why things weren’t getting better? It didn’t feel like the main character ever grew up. I wanted to like it, especially being recommended it by numerous people, but it did not live up to the hype. Would not re-read. Would probably resonate more with people who lost a sibling. I did like that the format was written as a letter, rather than a traditional novel.
