FTC DISCLAIMER: I RECEIVED AN E-ARC FROM THE PUBLISHER THROUGH ONE OF A VARIETY OF SOURCES. I VOLUNTARILY OFFER MY HONEST REVIEW OF THE BOOK, THOUGH IT IS NOT EXPECTED OF ME! RECEIPT OF THIS BOOK IN THIS MANNER DOES NOT AFFECT MY OPINION OF THE BOOK OR THE CONTENT OF MY REVIEW!

Having read all of the preceding books in the series made reading this book a no-brainer, but thanks to some changes in my private home life, I was even more eager to read this book than usual. I have to admit, I really enjoyed this story!

I appreciated how strong Piper was after tragedy brushed her, especially in trying to get her life back on track. She was essentially trying to give herself a rebirth, and I totally identified with that! I loved how Chloe entered her life, just when she seemed to need her the most, and how Chloe seemed to shake her up just enough for Piper to want to take the risks she did. I liked Chloe overall, but her martyr complex in regards to her twin got a bit much for me at times, and I really wanted to throttle her! The complex wound up getting in the way of the relationship she built with Piper, and wound up rushing the ending slightly as a result.

All things considered, this was a great installment in the series, and a welcome look through a new lens for me. I'm very glad to have read this book!

This is my fourth book by Rachel Lacey and she has become a go-to author for heartwarming books.

In Come Away with Me, Piper is an actress on her way to stardom but a traumatic experience has left her with panic attacks on top of the anxiety she’s always known. She’s about to audition for a part in a Hollywood movie and wants to master her fears before they stop her from reaching her dream. One step towards this goal is to go out to a bar and have a drink. Little did she expect to meet someone then. Chloe is a flight attendant from North Carolina who just wanted to have a drink in a gay bar on her night in New York. An unexpectedly nice evening with a mysterious woman in a black wig leaves her hoping for more.

I fell in love with both MCs immediately. I love Chloe’s laidback attitude and general sweetness. I love how much she cares for her family and the way she takes Piper’s issues in stride, showing support without stifling her. I also love Piper’s strong will, her ambition with just the right amount of ego. And I love them together.

It’s always very nice to have characters for whom communication isn’t taboo. There’s a little conflict but it’s realistic, not forced. Opening oneself to love, making a long-distance relationship work, navigating being in different places – both literally and figuratively, dealing with the expectations of celebrity, none of that is easy. Piper is the one with anxiety but Chloe can be vulnerable too and her reaction to the I-love-you scene is one of the loveliest I have read. And the chemistry! Wow.

I had one issue with this book, but I really can’t fault the author for it. On the contrary, it’s another proof of how well written the characters are. When Piper’s first panic attack is described, my idiot body felt it too. My brain wasn’t having a panic attack but my body was. As strange as that feeling was, it definitely didn’t stop me from enjoying this book and I was very happy to find out that there will be at least one more in this series.

Even though it’s book 3 in the Midnight in Manhattan series, Come Away with Me can be read as a standalone. Dragonfly, where Piper and Chloe first meet, is Josie’s bar from [b:Don't Cry for Me|50879673|Don't Cry for Me (Midnight in Manhattan #1)|Rachel Lacey|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1580634048l/50879673._SY75_.jpg|71068646], and the characters from [b:It's in Her Kiss|50267449|It's in Her Kiss (Midnight in Manhattan, #2)|Rachel Lacey|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1593728351l/50267449._SY75_.jpg|75187947] are mentioned in passing, but that’s all. I strongly recommend reading the other books however, if only because they’re really good too.

I received a copy from the author and I am voluntarily leaving a review.

This book is for you if you enjoy a sweet, low-angst romance. Chloe and Piper have a chance meeting at The Dragonfly...a NYC gay bar that is featured in book one of this trilogy. They hit it off instantly but go their separate ways as Piper lives in NYC while Chloe lives in NC. Chloe's job as a flight attendant has her running back into Piper shortly after on a trip to the Caymans. After reconnecting, this is short, sweet romance. There is some small amount of angst as the two deal with things from their past as well as their long-distance relationship but Come Away with Me is an easy-going story with that HEA that you want for these two...perfect for a relaxing afternoon on the couch. While I did wish there was a bit less time spent on their separate jobs, I found this to be enjoyable third book in the Midnight in Manhattan series.

Thank you to the author for an ARC of this book. The opinions here are my own.

I enjoyed this book and how they handled their long distance relationship. Piper’s anxiety was written very well and you could really feel what she was going through. Chloe had her own personal issue as well and they seem to help each other. The series is very good and I look forward to reading the next book.

I read this book in one sitting, that’s how good Come Away with Me, is. Do yourself a favor and snag this book up. Piper and Chloe, there was something so natural about them and their developing relationship. It was easy to get lost in the pages and forget time passing me by as I read.

Piper Sheridan, an actress who is suffering from crippling anxiety after witnessing a horrible moment, starts living her life again. In slow steps from her therapist’s recommendation, she sets small goals for herself because she’s determined to land a career changing moving role.
She goes to the Dragonfly bar, identity hidden, and she bumps into flight attendant Chloe Carson. Chloe is kind, funny, and makes it easy for Piper to work through her anxiety. This chance encounter sparks a relationship between the two women.

I loved, loved, loved, the fact that Chloe was supportive of Piper. As someone who deals with anxiety every day, I could relate. Chloe encouraged Piper slowly, but she was there for her in the aftermath as well.

The attraction between the two women sparked from the first meeting and it was fun. The more the saw each other, the more intense it became. Their kisses? *fans self* Ooh boy, those kisses probably had my cheeks all flushed.

Even though distance kept them apart due to their work, they found a way to make their relationship work. I loved the fact that Piper traveled to North Carolina and met the people important to Chloe. I feel like we don’t get that enough in books and this just tickled me.
