The book has one main focus, the one you least expect when you find it in a supermarket book aisle. But it does redeem itself at the end. Should have a fair amount of trigger warnings. To all the aces - this might not be for you. But it was fun to read, added an extra bit of spice to my day.

I freaking hated this book. How tf is he even allowed to live. He was a new level of asshole that I have every read about. He did not care at all about her and is just an asshole that gets off on degrading others?? For some reason most of Monica Murphys books have guys that act this way. Which is why I said last year that I wouldn’t read any more of her books, but when I read A Million Kisses in your Lifetime’ and actually enjoyed it, I thought, why not read this. Anyway this was probably the worst book I’ve read this year and would not recommend this to anyone. I also dnfed this at 35% because I didn’t want to torture myself any more.
Also the victim blaming in sexual assault is just not okay on any level whatsoever. How can any of the reviewers, who give this more than one star forgive this? She was literally just existing, then got attacked and apparently it’s her fault? Because of the way she dresses? I’m honestly blaming all the reviewers, who gave this anything but one stars and the author. Who still allows her to keep writing the same types of books?? Always misogynistic “alpha” guys, who love to suppress and degrade women.
A note for Monica Murphy: are you okay? What happened in your childhood, that you keep writing this horrible view for women.
And how tf can anyone support this, by giving it a good rating!!!!!

The only reason why I provide a 3 stars is due to the ending, It provided me enough.
The Jane Austen quote "if a book is well written, I always find it too short." Does NOT match 'things I wanted to say.'
The book was way to long winded, why did Summer have to be assaulted twice for Whit to mark her as his.
I loved how he chose her in the end over everyone.  Whit grew as a character the most for me in the book, Summer stayed the same, obsessive, submissive, boring character the whole time.
Also why did we jump so many years, the time lines were all over the place near the end.
I wished more from Summer to prove herself and not just sign a document to state she didn't want his money, she never made something of her self in the end she became the thing she said she did not want to be. "A breeding machine for the Lancaster name."

Fall down the BookSmutTok hole where 50 Shades meets old money senior school at Lancaster Prep, where enemies turn to hardcore lovers despite their families' objections.

Dark with darker sub-storylines, Monica Murphy builds the characters quite slowly as they show themselves to each other. Lots of adult themes and situations that are quite unrealistic yet fantastical to read and daydream about.

When you need to read something with a dark and possessive hero, just think of Whit! He gives me intense Carter vibes but a sort of lite version.

This is heavy on the sex, but I loved it. At first it’s just nothing but lust. This isn’t like a love story I think it’s a lust to obsession to the brokenness of two people merging together.

The only reason I didn’t give us a five star is because I really wanted a definitive resolution between his sister and Summer.

Like was her friendship and ask for real or did she decide to be the way she was in the end because of her mother.

But other than that this is a great toxic love story, and I will be rereading this again. Definitely will recommend!

This was a very addictive read, but also quite dark and brutal. There were things in this book that just didn’t sit right (victim shaming and their ages to start) but over all it was an easy read. As a ‘Bully-Romance’ there are tonnes of trigger warnings, however I found Summer and Whit fed off each others ‘darkness’ and worked so well together. Whit is absolutely filthy and this book is honestly 90% smut and 10% plot 🤷‍♀️ I quite enjoyed the span of time this book spread, so you felt like you got most of their story.

TW: attempted sexual assault (on page), victim blaming for said attempted SA, derogatory terms, non-consensual sex, rape (off page/alluded to), bullying, drug and alcohol use
