This was another stellar performance by Kai Owen. He does a terrific job getting all the characters down. I also enjoyed this story more than some of the others in this set. It was short, but tons of fun.

This definitely would’ve been better if it was a proper Torchwood team story. The flashback during it felt more compelling than the rest of it. I stopped watching Torchwood after Children Of Earth, so I don’t know exactly what happened after that or why they felt the need to bring things over to America, but that really takes away from what makes it Torchwood, in my opinion.

This could’ve been something really neat if it was longer than an hour and if it was even just Jack, Ianto, and Gwen still in Cardiff.

A Gwen and Rhys focused story with a few flashbacks to the whole Torchwood crew. Fairly predictable plot but entertaining (though I might just be a sucker for anything to do with Gwen...)

So... what made the BBC (or AudioGO or whoever is in charge of this) to have a a graphic novel author to write an book exclusively for audio? I really don't know. It wasn't all that bad. Not utterly amazing, mind you, but not terrible.

Kai Owen does a good job as usual narrating. My favorite of his voices is actually his Ianto. It's very deep and Welsh and lovely, very like the character.

The monster-of-the-week: the cuckoo. You are thinking WTF, too, right? It's basically a creature that survives by taking the skins of others and umm... living in them (you know what I mean, right? Do I really have to elaborate). After an encounter with Torchwood the cuckoo becomes obsessed with the team. Then the miracle came and it finds that the time it is able to live in a skin is getting shorter and shorter, so the cuckoo thinks Torchwood is the cause of the problem and hunts down Gwen.

If you aren't a fan of Gwen or the Rhys/Gwen romance, then you will have a hard time with this book because that is all this book is.

There is a good portion of the book that is flashback/dream sequence in which it's revealed the cuckoo's motives and background with Torchwood. But a plus is there's time with Ianto, Owen, Tosh and Jack. I guess the author missed them too.

Don't read this book unless you have watched all or most of Miracle Day or have been spoiled like WHOA.
