I stumbled across this title in a "read them before they become movies" article, so thought it must be good. This story had so much promise, and was a "pretty" read, but it really wasn't what it could have been. It could have been a lot creepier/complex, and the final outcome (to some extent) was so predictable I could have finished the book halfway through and guessed what was going to happen. Meh.
This is, by far, the best book I have ever read. It changed my life in so many ways, it's hard for me to pinpoint it here in a review. This novel is The Book.
Sometimes I thought it was a little confusing, the history didn't seem to fit, but I felt so curious, that I had to get it done.
There's some stuff's that can be triggering for some people, the author should have been careful with that.

I'm really glad I decided to read this book, at the beginning the 2 first chapters are so weird and I thought i'm not going to like this, but then I kept going and this is such a good story. Dr. Pascal made everything so interesting for me, I feel like he was the deal maker in this story, since she show up I thought this is it. this book shows that love can be bizarre in so many ways. I actually was expecting what happened at the end can say I was surprised but I really enjoyed this, I think people should read this, because i'm not into this genre but this might make me look for more like this

This book was not at all what I was expecting it to be, but in a good way. I actually didn't know what to expect going into it, I didn't know anything about it other than what I'd seen in the movie trailer. And I don't remember the trailer well. I was really surprised by this book. The writing in particular was very engaging and I was really impressed by Jensen's ability to make it very clear who was narrating within just a few words. That being said, I don't have a whole lot to say about this book. It was good. I enjoyed it. I'm interested in watching the movie and potentially reading more by this author. I don't see myself thinking about this one too much though. I don't think it will stick with me. I am glad I read it though as it's been sitting forgotten on my Kindle for ages.

I found it hard to read through the format to start off with. However,when this book got going I couldn't put it down. I would highly recommend if you enjoy books with a strange twist.

Very well told story that begins like a psychodrama and ends more like a crime story. Especially the voice of nine year old Louis Drax is masterfully crafted and the whole book was a joy to read. And ...
...I really liked the ending. If Louis would have woken up and everybody lived happy together, I would've been really dissapointed.
Flawed characters are actually amazing. I especially love the sentence where it says that you attribute good character to attractive people. I like the fact that it's not a case of whodunnit but more of a proving the "victim" is actually the perpetrator. And also that life does not necessarily need a happy ending to function.
