If I can recommend this book to every woman I've ever met, I absolutely, without a doubt, would. I mean, some may not appreciate it as much but the ones who share the same interest in dark narratives of important issues such as eating disorder, body dysmorphia, trauma after assault, motherhood and more. These short stories are so well-written and contain the depth of further analysis, perfect for literature classes and workshops. God had I grown up with this kind of literature, I would turn out a better woman than I am now.
This is exactly the type of book I expected Three Women to be, and I love it so much. Also, it's queer! It's so queer I love it!

as with all short story collections, some stories resonated with me more than others - but overall a really great collection, the stories were disturbing and meaningful and the writing was gorgeous

Absolutely obsessed with Machado’s writing now. Her descriptions are so unique but accurate and her creativity shines through in the plot of each short story. My favorite was either Inventory or the Law & Order SVU one.
Will definitely be recommending it to any horror fans that I know.
‘how I could have scooped despair from the air by the handfuls.’
