I understand there are people nostalgic for American Flagg who continue to read Chaykin, but do they enjoy it? He's such a hack. His work reeks of Old White Dude Desperately Out Of Touch And Trying To Be Edgy.

These characters have nearly nothing to do with the previous Squadron Supreme, and Nick Fury, The Ultimate Universe Nick Fury, the basis for Samuel L Jackson's Nick Fury in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, is basically here to validate Chaykin's racist quips that he puts here to point out that the people wo say those racist quips are bad. But, don't forget, he put those words in those fictional characters' muths to begin with.

The only nice thing I can say about this completely unnecessary and unenjoyable dump he took on The Squadron Supreme is that editorial, at least, didn't give him the opportunity to draw it, so we don't have to see every female character wearing hoisery.

No one should ever be forced to read Chaykin's work.
