3.25⭐️ it started off as another great Karen Slaughter book but I feel like the plot got a bit lost along the way down two different paths….. I feel like the racism plot got thrown in there and didn’t really end up having much to do with the story.

Yes I know Lena has been through some stuff, but her character and choices irritate me to no end! Meanwhile Sara and Jeffery need to sort their relationship out because this going back and forth is getting old.

If I lived in Grant County, Georgia, I'd run for my life. This place is like death, incorporated. How many times can any one character face rape, and attempted murder? I think I could buy all this murder and mayhem, if perhaps, the protagonists lived in a big city - or even a big town. But all this unexpected horror in one small town stretches my ability to suspend my disbelief. And despite being with these characters for a couple of books - I still don't particularly like them.

Super engaging but I had no clue who the killer was and the answer was outta know where in my opinion.. still would highly recommend! This is the third book in the Grant County Series and is about a series of murders/suicides at the local college. Lena drives me insane.. love Sarah and Jeffery. But again, great overall!

This is a good fast paced thriller with lots of twists and turns and plenty of undercurrents to the main story. Even though this is the third in the series and a lot has happened before this book it still works as a stand alone as it gives the relevant information about the characters back stories as the story progresses. The characters develop well although there were times that the relationship between Sara and Jeffrey got a little tiresome (to the point where all I wanted to do was bang their heads together) but that is very much my personal view and other reads may enjoy that aspect of the story. I did find the role that Tessa played a little forced (can anyone really be that unlucky) and somewhat unnecessary for the story as a whole. Overall though this is a really good read that is well written with an ending that really makes you gasp.
