Good read...not my favorite in the series, but a good book. As always the characters are great!! And the bad guys are great. This one has a couple of returning bad guys that you just gotta love. Still a little slow on this one with a lot of political stuff going on.
Not bad, but I didn't much care for the ending. It was suggestive, rather than conclusive, and left me feeling unsatisfied. It almost felt like he was setting up a sequel with the same villain.
While still an engaging Davenport story, this one had a little bit too much politics and bureaucracy for my taste. Davenport is called into help a conservative politician who is friends with the current Minnesota governor (who is a Democrat) who has been framed with some child pornography. The story is mildly interesting but compared to both later and earlier books in the series it's kind of bland. But it still has enough suspense and action to keep you turning the pages, especially towards the end.
As always, entertaining with great plotting and interesting characters. This is one of my favorite ongoing series and the author has kept up the high standards with each book. Listened to the audio version which was narrated by Richard Ferrone who did his usual excellent job.
Meh story, same easy read, but no satisfying wrap up. Reading mindless easy reads should have everything tied up with a bow at the end, not a messy real world conclusion.
Loved it! With the first few Lucas Davenport books focused on serial killers and the like, I've enjoyed how the last several installments have taken Davenport into new and unique mysteries. As usual, can't wait for the next one.

Good book in the series, made great by the Kidd and Lauren characters. I knew there was a series about them, but not more. Loved how they work into this story. I am reading all out of order, so I made sure to get this in before reading the sequel with the Senator.
John Sandford is my favorite author and his Virgil Flowers and Lucas Davenport series are always a hit with me. This wasn't my favorite Lucas Davenport book...for me it dragged a little through the ending and I wasn't terribly interested in the other characters. Didn't really like the Kidd stuff in here, but it wasn't a huge part. Anyway, I liked it, but didn't love it in comparison with the other "Prey" books. Looking forward to the next one in May.
