Easy read. Fun. Predictable but also not.

Maybe love shouldn’t be built on a foundation of compromises, but maybe it can’t exist without them either.

I flew through this and enjoyed every minute of it. One of my favorite things about picking up an Emily Henry romance book is that I know I'm going to get well-developed characters and a protagonist who has a life outside the romance plot.

okay, i made a HUGE mistake. i first read em hen 4 years ago. i ended up reading beach read, people we meet on vacation, and book lovers. i was not a fan at all for some reason.

my sister told me a year ago that it was probably because i was way younger and not in my 20s. she said i should give them a 2nd change. soooo i read funny story this year and absolutely loved everything about it. i decided i want to read all of her bibliography. this was my first book after funny story. all i have to say is i loved this one too. i regret not liking it years ago. i’ve related to both daphne and nora now. i cannot wait to give the others another chance.

this book was everything. i loved the plot of it. i loved the romance. i loved the bookstore. i loved the agent/editor aspect. i loved the grief. i loved the sister relationship. okay i loved everything.
