I recently read this with my 7-year-old son, who had never seen the Wizard of Oz movie. We both loved the book, which surprised me because I'm not a great fan of the movie. It's imaginative and full of friendship and hopefulness. We'll read more in the series this summer.
3.75 stars - I highly recommend the audible narration version by Anne Hathaway

I had fun reading this to my daughter. I've watched the movie a dozen times but the book was a new world that was fun to visit. I may need to find more from the series for us to enjoy.
