Weirder than I remember the movie being. Dorothy is bland but her supporting cast is more interesting. I initially liked the concept of the scarecrow, tin man, and lion searching for something they always had within them. However, there was no self-discovery, ultimately. This cheapened their characters.

Oz being a charlatan also was a potentially deep well of philosophical potential that was wasted here.

It was a really fun read. I never thought I'd like it as much as I did. It did feel like a good fairytale

Letto alla mia età espone naturalmente tutti i difetti di trama e conoscenze, ma cercando di vederlo con gli occhi di un bambino merita tutto il successo e la fama che lo contraddistingue.
Non avendolo mai letto (né sentito) da bambino, dovevo prima o poi colmare la lacuna.
