two words.. tentacle porn..

not as interesting as the first installment of this series.. also not as bizarre as some of existing tentacle porn out there..

However, there are enough interesting bits to entice to me to read the the next installment to learn what the mystery mounds of flesh are all about..

BRIDES OF HANOVER BLOCK is another strong offering in The Hanover Block series. Like the first book, Brides offers strong relatable characters and gut wrenching action at a roller coaster pace. Gregor Xane is a great storyteller and can write a series that isn't the same book told over and over again.
In book 2 of The Hanover Block series, we get a female perspective on the neighborhood. This has a darkened "Desperate Housewives" vibe to it. The monsters are a bit different suited to the female persuasion. Its tentacles without being Lovecraftian.
I'm not one for reading series but Grevor Xane has me hooked. I'll be checking out Sons of Hanover Block to be sure. Great story and great writing keep me going back to the block.

This book was grotesque, bizarre, weird and gross. It also made me feel a bit sick. One of the things I enjoyed about the first book was that it had an element of mystery before delving into the madness and obsession, but this book hit the ground running and it didn't quite work for me.

BRIDES OF HANOVER BLOCK can be summarized in two words: Messed. Up. !!!!!

Messed up is not really my first choice of phrasing, but it's one that Goodreads and Amazon will both allow. BRIDES picks up months after the events in HANOVER BLOCK. Where that book focused on the men in a certain neighborhood and their weird backyard appearances, this one focuses on the women in a certain neighborhood and their weird INDOOR appearances.

What is it that appears, exactly? All I can say is look at the covers of both books. Done? Now you know as much I do.

What can I say without spoiling anything? These books are strange, erotic, and strangely erotic. They are sick and weird and did I mention erotic? Ok then-sick, weird, and (one more time!) erotic. These books are not for the fainthearted. After all the strange erotica, then come some murders, some guys in weird uniforms with gas masks, and a dude with some kind of industrial fog machine in a truck. (I told you it was weird.)

That said, halfway through this quartet of books we have been led through a compelling, intriguing, weird tale and I just cannot wait for the next one!

My HIGHEST recommendation!
