Only got to 30%
The Hero Alexander was a mess and had already fuck 2 other random women plus kissed Sunny's sister by this point while also obsessing over her and feeling disgusted with himself due to the age gap.
She saw him with the first woman through the window. Knew he went out and fucked the second woman and SAW HIM KISS HER SISTER. right in front of her, they made eye contact and then he dove back into the kiss.
I really dont mind a soft heroine. Sunny was soft and nieve but mostly extremely immature. She just let him talk himself right out of these things with a few words and was back to laughing and dancing with him.
Now I KNOW they aren't together at this point, but they have both shown clear interest in each other at this point. If a man says he wants me so badly ect but then goes out and fucks someone else.... you better believe that guy is going IN THE BIN!!!
Maybe the story gets better but honestly my TBR is too long to take the time to find out.

for me

I didn’t like this book. At the end at least. At first I liked this book but as I got towards the end I hated it. Alex is disgusting. He literally admitting to wanting to cheat on sunny. He slept with his best friends wife and jsut puts all of it on being impulsive. I think they have a toxic relationship and I didn’t like to. Now I have read many dark books with toxic relationships and liked them. This book i just didn’t like. I don’t like cheating and I just didn’t find the characters that likable. This book. Truthfully disappointed me. I would not recommend this me in my opinion as there are better age gap romances. 2/5

Beautiful Monster is an age gap romance. It is the story of Alexander Caldwell and Sunny Thorn and takes place in Pineridge, where Sunny lives with her sister (Cadence) and her mother.

Alexander left the city for the suburbs and ends up being Sunny’s neighbour. He has made the move in an effort to straighten up his life and settle down.

Alexander commissions Sunny (whom he often refers to as rain cloud)to paint a mural in his pool house. He is protective of Sunny, and watches out for her, as her family life and home environment can be quite complicated at times and exposes her to potentially difficult situations. There are also some daddy issues.

Although Alexander is her safe haven, he feels like a monster because of their age gap. He also has his own insecurities due to this. He worries that the novelty might wear off for Sunny and when she is his age, he’ll be sixty. Will she still find him sexy then? Will she still want him, or will she move on to someone younger, someone better?

Overall this was an enjoyable read and had me intrigued enough to add “Beautiful Sinner” , Cadence’s story to my want to read list.
