"Like so many Americans, she was trying to construct a life that made sense from things she found in a gift shop."
"Well here we are, Mr. Pilgrim, trapped in the amber of this moment. There is no why."
"The creatures can see where each star has been and where it is going, so that the heavens are filled with rarefield, luminous spaghetti."
"But the Gospels actually taught this: Before you kill somebody, make absolutely sure he isn't well connected. So it goes."
"Everything was beautiful, and nothing hurt."
"Their most destructive untruth is that it is very easy for any American to make money."
"Everything is alright, and everybody has to do exactly what he does."

It's an incredible book. All those ideas about life, time and inevitableness of death. And so it goes.

This awesome novel has been shelved in my TBR for ages. I knew it was unique but I never found the right time and mood to go for it. Gladly I finally read it!
It has millions of different story layers: sci-fi time travel, war fiction, absurd humor, adventure, social portrait of 40-70s US...
Will re-read soon
