This was fun. Not your usual lineup, even though it did feature some familiar characters. Nothing hugely of consequence happens within, beyond the debut of the Immortal Hulk, but it’s just an entertaining “event” style tale.

Really, it’s a 3-star book, and then you get to all the parts where Al Ewing’s doing his best version of himself, and then it’s 4 stars.

I read this primarily to see the conversation between Clint and Bruce - to understand how they reconciled the whole assisted suicide thing - and that part was disappointing.
But overall this story was really really good! It gave me chills so many times, I almost cried once! It was full of action and drama and loss and hope and teamwork. Made me feel a million things.

Perfectly paced for a 'read in one sitting' event and the 16 issues that this book is comprised of go down nice and quick.
It was a fun book. A great springboard for launching us into a new era of The Avengers. I was never blown away by a crazy reveal, I never worried about life-shattering events about to take place, however, I was never bored with the story either, and with each turn of the page, I was definitely curious to see what was going to happen next.
A solid 3.5 stars that I am rounding up to 4.
