This is such a good book. The foreshadowing was really well done.

What a wild ride. So many twists I didn’t really see coming. One of the better thrillers I’ve read in quite awhile. Creepy and just a notch past sanity so it seems like it could really happen. The ending is such a feminist feel good ending. Can’t wait to check out more from this author.

This book was a treat . I found this to be a medium to fast pace read . I liked the build up of the story before the twist hits . How these unlikable characters somehow get explained . I liked how it showed that life isn't black and white  . I rated it 4.5 stars for those reasons . I didn't rate it five because I felt like there was points where the pace did drag for me . I do reccomend this for anyone looking for a good fun female empowered thriller . Check trigger warnings .

Stop whatever you're doing and get yourself a copy of this book.

As a thriller lover it can be difficult to blow my mind and make me fall back in love with reading, but Freida McFadden so easily achieved that with The Housemaid.

Every potential plot hole was filled with flawlessly thought out explanations, those TWISTS I just did not see every time, not knowing who I could trust & what everyone's motive was... just perfect.

The second book has been instantly ordered and I cannot wait to read more by Freida McFadden; any recommendations are more than welcome!

The whole romance bit really took me by surprise and it almost made dnf cus I am so not here for it. I did guess the plot twist correctly at some point, but that didn't spoil the book for me. The build up was nicely done, the unravelling of secrets and Millie's as well as Nina's past had the right pace, it also didn't feel as if it came out of nowhere - everything made sense at the end.
