Fresh out of the book so the rating might change.

Until then, what the fork did I just read?

I liked that:
- it’s a fast read, with short chapters
- it’s easy to follow
- there’s a complete ending to the story even if there are more in this series
- the author completely manipulated me

I didn’t like that:
- it’s a slow start
- there is a « love story » happening
between Millie and Andy (kind of needed) & Enzo and Nina (not needed at all)

- it’s got quite a few stereotypes

That being said I’ll give the next one a try, and I’m overall glad I read it.

the foreshadowing was very blatant but it was a surprise twist
with Nina actually being a victim and Andrew being abusive
I found that at times i didn’t want to read anymore because it was the same situation over and over (now i understand it was to drive home how the main character was feeling but it annoyed me) then other points i couldn’t put it down.  It felt pretty stereotypical for the characteristics of every main character, like the stuck up PTA moms and the foreign gardener who doesn’t speak english. I would say this book was exciting for the revenge aspects and a good set up for the series, but i won’t be finishing the series. The author writes in a very easy to digest way while still keeping the descriptions detailed enough; i just find that this book didn’t make me feel good. It was like it was dark for the purpose of shock or to be dark while the happy endings were glossed over.

I loved this book. It’s incredibly straightforward which makes the multiple twists hard to see coming. I didn’t give it 5 stars because it was a little too straightforward and some of the twists were pretty easy to guess, but it is an incredibly dark story and a hard book to put down.

It was like fine. It was slow for like the first 60% of the book (all of Part 1) and then overall it was just so predictable.
It was also aggravating because Millie kept making stupid decisions (until the ending) and Nina could've done things way better than what she did. The best part was when Millie basically made him kill himself, like finally something smart and she popped off! Although, once again Nina was freaking rude as shit for just like putting another woman in that position in the first place. Lastly, I knew that mother was the one who instilled this in him from the moment we met that bitch (hence her ending comments to Nina were not a surprise). I'm glad I read the book but probably won't read the second one....

This is a book that got me to continue reading to know what happens next. It is very enjoyable to read and I do not find myself bored.
