Better than expected

I was a little apprehensive going into this, because Caraval wasn't my favorite series, but I'm enjoying where this story is headed. Its magical, romantic, and suspenseful in a way where you think you know what's going to happen and then things turn on their head. Evangeline is a little naive for my tastes, so here's hoping there's some serious character growth for her. More than anything, I'm super intrigued in the story behind the valors and what's locked behind the valory arch. I look forward to see how the story continues in the next book.

5 stars, I will be thinking about this all day, week, month, year. Currently ordering ballad of never after. I was intrigued and enjoying it from the start and it just kept getting better. First I was hooked and then I was 'bewitched' by this book. There was never a point where I felt bored or that there was too much information or that the story wasnt progressing at a good pace. It was an easy read, enjoyed the characters, had me sitting here guessing and figuring out along with it. And BOY THE END .. I need answers and I need more.

I did not think I’d like this sort of book at first but I got hooked. I love love loved everything about it. I love how evangeline wasn’t portrayed as weak, no she was strong and capable. She was so smart yet vulnerable at times, my most liked females character in a book to ever exist. Now jacks, oh jacks, I loved how cocky and evil he was. Part of believed that he was going to fall for Eva but the ending was unexpected, sort of. I loved the plot and the scenes inside my head were just so easy to imagine, I loved it all. I love Jacks so much

Absolutely devoured the book, it was just right without being too complex.
However.
After reading 400 pages I still don’t understand how Evangeline’s thought process works. I understand the last baffling spiral to a certain degree but I feel as though she definitely overlooked some big clues and red flags for others.
