I’ve been flying through these Trixie Belden books and thoroughly enjoying the nostalgia that each one of them brings me. Even though I read them so long ago that I can’t actually remember what happens in each book, they’re still so much fun to read. Onto the next!

They’re so fun to read, and I can’t wait to read the next one!

The second book in the Trixie Belden series was another fun, quick read. Definitely dated, but a sweet mystery as Trixie and Honey search for Jim and along the way get entangled in another mystery involving a stolen red trailer. Love the fact that these preteens were quoting "The Raven" by Edgar Allan Poe.

I'm going to officially call it--I like Trixie Belden more than Nancy Drew. My mom's childhood tastes are confirmed. Not only was Trixie's mystery more complex (although fairly easily solvable) than Nancy's, but the book was longer and delved into the characters and their relationships a bit more. I'm excited to see what Trixie's next mystery will be.

Revisiting these from my childhood. They hold up pretty well.

This book picks up right where the first one ends. Trixie and Honey are going on a search for Jim in the Wheeler trailer with Honey's governess, Miss Trask. They are going to search the boys camps that Jim mentioned he would like to work at. Along the way, they encounter a sad family in a red trailer, get involved with trailer thieves, and try to find a runaway girl. The girls spend a lot of time on horseback in the woods --part of the attraction of this series when I was younger-- they seem fearless. Of course, by the end all of the mysteries are solved. There were some great supporting characters and only one scene that seemed completely farfetched (the trooper in the woods). I am enjoying my nostalgic read of these books and will probably read a few more.

I really like these books (of the Nancy Drew genre) I read when I was a girl. This one involves Trixie and her pal stumbling upon what they are sure is suspicious and making it their personal mystery to be solved. These are perfect summer vacation books that bespeak the nostalgic innocence of the '50s. Someday when I have a granddaughter I will read them to her on a lazy summer evening.
