so bad. spoiler alert - wrapped up with a perfect bow in the last 2 pages! a whole life of scamming (but feeling a little bit bad about it), then wow, you find your perfect mother and reverse your life of bad behavior and live happily ever after!

This was a quick fun read. I was pleasantly surprised by this plot and the pacing. I liked Lucky as a character fine, was especially intrigued by the con-workings and small tricks she used to get by. I did feel some of the story just was a little too easy, where the author forgone big emotional moments to further the plot instead of stopping to writhe in its intensity. I did like the ending and managed to follow the time jumps pretty well. Betty (the dog) was by far my favourite element of the story. Overall an entertaining read and I’d definitely read other books by the author. I just thought the book required a bit more emotional character building to balance out the heavy plot focus and draw the reader in more.
