Disclaimer: I received an e-copy in exchange for an honest review.

Anala is a Hunter, the child of the Leaders of their society, and she's one of the best. Too bad her parents never let her go out and actually hunt any Cursed Ones. One night, she and her friend Thomas are out, and his sister scares them. When Thomas leaves Anala behind to take his sister home, she lets her guard down for one minute; however, that's all it takes. She's bitten, and her life will change forever.

This story pulled me in from the very first sentence. Everybody loves a good vampire story, but this was more than that. It was a coming-of-age story, of sorts, mixed with a little romance, some intrigue, and some good old-fashioned butt kicking. I'm fond of all the characters, even Jenna (the proverbial sour grape), and I would definitely love to read more about this group. I really hope there's a sequel already in the works!!

5 stars =)

I got this book from the author, free of cost, in exchange of an honest review from my side!

Firstly I would like to thank Jourdyn Kelly, the author of Destined to kill, for this fantastic opportunity that she presented me with by allowing me to review her work now moving on to the review part.

It is really a great story. It has all the spices that you can ask for, vampires, vampire hunters, love, action, suspense and everything else that transforms a story from good to awesome!

The main character Anna is a kick-ass heroine, fully confident and self dependent rather than weak and fragile like we get to see in other vampire stories.

The plot and storyline is unique and the characters are well-written and well described too and the story is fast paced and you’ll find yourself turning the pages till it ends.

I got totally captivated by the story and hope that you all will love it too.

Although this is a vampire book (and not a genre I usually read), I found this book to be interesting. The characters were well described and interesting. I also liked the strong heroine, Anala. She was described in detail and I actually did not hate her (which is hard for me, I tend to hate most major characters). I also enjoyed the author's interpretation of vampires. Unlike Twilight and other cliche book, the vampires in these stories were unevolved and were described as Cursed (an accurate description in my opinion). Another element I enjoyed was the other main characters, mainly the teenagers. I felt that the other characters seemed realistic in their speech and patterns but Anala (the MC) had a very formal speech pattern but it seems accurate considering her date of birth. The only thing that really stopped me from giving this wonderful book 5 stars is the romance. Although the romance was very well written and somewhat realistic, I felt that it happened to quickly in the story and it seemed very predictable. Other than that, this book was great. I recommend this book to anyone who is tired of vampire cliches and would like to see a fresh interpretation on the subject. Overall, this book was interesting and well written. I am eagerly awaiting the sequel in hopes that it will be even better than this book.
