There's more to say, but some guy can't transfer your consent over to him for your own good.

That isn't any kind of healing.

MY OH MY! Let me get my fangirling self together before I start this review.

This story is about an innocent girl who was loving life at college, until one fateful night, it all changed for the worse. Eden Rivers was a girl who had everything going for her. You dive right into the story, getting acquainted with Eden and what happened to her four years ago in December.

Throughout the novel, you can feel a strong bond, not only between Eden and Ky, but also between their close friends and family. From the beginning, you get that Ky is super protective, but it also made him the knight in shining armor. Always there when you needed it, yet battling his own demons inside. The relationship between Ky, Josh, and Ashlyn is very strong, and humorous at times. I found myself laughing at some of the things that both Ashlyn and Josh would say to Ky.

Overall I found this novel to be utterly amazing. Rachel Brookes did a great job to tackle a hard topic, most fear of discussing, and turning it into a marvelous story. And one that I believe will help people who are suffering in their own ways. The writing style was on point, and the attraction between characters was undeniable. I was definitely on a roller coaster of emotions, going from hating, to loving, to heartbreaking, to passionate.

You automatically felt a loving bond between them, and I absolutely loved it! I really didn't want the story to end. It was a bittersweet conclusion to an amazing, heartbreaking yet powerful story.

There were some issues that would probably make it more of a 3.5 for me, but the story itself had me on the edge of my seat toward the end, so I had to give it a 4 star. Now ready for the sequel! Review to come on my blog Lisa Loves Literature soon!

This book revolved around the words “YES” and “NO” and how those two terms can be a life changer in a person. The story contained situations that were not easy on the heart.

Eden Rivers had been a victim of a traumatic event four years ago and because of that horrible encounter her answer to many things was always a “YES” answer to avoid reliving that horrible life changing experience. She felt violated and not worthy and vowed to not let anyone get close to her again.

Ky Crawford has a secret of his own where he has a hard time letting go. This in turn has him losing control on what he wants in life until he sees Eden, “the girl in the red jacket” across the way.

A story about attempting to move on and gaining control of who you are and what you want is Eden and Ky’s story. This novel gave me emotional moments that either disturbed me or had my heart filled with hope. A recommend read filled with surprising twists and many feels.

I was lucky enough to win a copy of Be My December from Ms Brookes, and it is a book I thoroughly enjoyed.

Eden has some baggage from an incident 4 years ago, and to this day it is affecting her day to day life.

Ky Crawford --- le sigh --- has a secret, and it eats at him every day.

Gees, don't these people know that secrets always have a way of coming out and causing more trouble lol

I loved how with Ky by her side, Eden comes out of the damaged shell she has kept herself in for so long. Watching her blossom, watch her self confidence grow and seeing her take no crap anymore is just wonderful. And Ky really is quite swoonworthy.

Loved the secondary characters, particular Ashlyn and Josh.

This is the first of Ms Brookes' books I have had the chance to read (so many books, so little time!) but it will definitely not be the last

Absolutely loved this book to pieces. I went in completely blind only know the Crawford brothers names because of friends who have read these 2 books. I didn't know what to expect and the prologue destroyed me. This book is nothing light, it touches a very difficult subject and Rachel Brookes did a fantastic job with this story and handling. Ky was something to swoon over that's for sure. I loved his character from the beginning. He's been haunted from something that happened 4 years ago and Eden is struggling to be someone different than who she was 4 years ago.
I seriously loved this book. I can't wait to read Josh's story and see who I love more. I can't wait to read other books by Rachel Brookes!

This book was a good and enjoyable read, the main characters were simply amazing in my opinion and the secondary characters were just as great.

Story beings 4 years before the present time on December 16th on a very cold winter’s night Eden Rivers innocence was taken without a choice, that was the night she made the biggest mistake of saying the simply word “NO” which is a mistake she would never make ever again. She use to dream of happy everafter’s, but she has made the decision to lock them away and imagine they are just myths and fairy tales. She has made herself a promise that she would never let anyone get too close to her again, but she never would have thought she’d meet someone like him the most intense, confident and very handsome man name Ky Crawford.

Ky Crawford is very intense and has a lot of confidence, but has a secret that he feels responsible for and what comes with that secret is a lot of guilt. His plan was very simple do whatever it took to correct his biggest mistake, and that mistake has controlled his life since it happened. He was on track, he made plans and those plans never included becoming someone’s prince charming, white knight in shining armor, but that all went up in flames the moment he saw her – the girl in the red jacket, the girl who now has a problem with saying no, quiet but stunning Eden Rivers.

So...I read this quite awhile ago and just realized my review never got posted even though I wrote it. Oops. So here it is! Better late than never!

I really liked this story, so much so that I couldn't stop reading. I needed to know how it ended. How everything connected and how it would play out. I really liked Ky and you could really tell how much their past weighed down on them. The connections all of them had couldn't be missed and it really was just a great story. I can't wait to read more about them in Be My Temptation but am also really interested in seeing how Josh and Ashlyn's story plays out.
