I was truly engrossed by this story, got wrapped up in the welcoming winds and it carried me away until I'd read the entire thing in a single sitting. The pace whipped along at times, but I never felt as if I was left behind and revelations came at a satisfying pace.

Audra's burden and Vane's reluctance to accept are both strong themes, but their shared transformation forms a great pillar around which the rest of the story falls into place.

A thoroughly enjoyable read and I can't wait for the next installment!

I have no words right now.

Let's just say that I really wanted to read Let the Sky Fall for a while now. Then let's pretend that it was amazing.. amazingly confusing and boring at the same damn time. Some characters actually reminded me of others - for example, her mom vs rose's mom from [b:Vampire Academy|345627|Vampire Academy (Vampire Academy, #1)|Richelle Mead|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1361098973l/345627._SY75_.jpg|335933]. It could just be me.. but that's what I'm stating right now (and forever).

In this, you will meet Audra and Vane. Two people who were okay in my eyes. Didn't really like Vane that much.. but I'll live. Audra trains him throughout this book and some of it kind of annoyed me. Then this book had random moments (or chapters) of just info dumping on my poor tired brain. No amount of coffee, food, or alcohol prepared me for this. So long story short, most of it went through me and that's about it.

Back to Vane (this will be short), I just didn't like him. He acted like a two year old most of the time and I just wanted to punch him - a lot.

Overall, things confused me to no end and I have no idea how I'm going to deal with the next book. Seriously hoping it's a lot better than this and less confusing.. but I also don't have high hopes either. Pray for me.

Let the Sky Fall is a fairly typical fantasy YA romance. I was interested in seeing where the story went but not particularly blown away by the romance or the characters; they felt standard, like place markers, and didn’t make me feel they were real. I may or may not read the sequels in the trilogy.

2.5 stars and... I think that's a bit generous.
Le sigh.

I've read a lot of books on vampires, werewolves, witches.. you name it and I've read it. But this is the first time I've ever read a book about sylphs! and it was written in such an original and amazing way.

WOW! This lady knows what she's doing. Shannon Messenger was able to get two completely distinctive voices in the 2 main characters of her book: Vane & Audra. I seriously can tell who is saying what and what POV I'm reading without having to look back to the heading of the chapters. I've never read a book before where the characters dialogue was uniquely theirs. Vane's voice was 100% him and the same goes for Audra. It was....is one of the best things I've read.

THE LOVE in this story is heartbreaking....heartwarming....touching....real....and felt just as alive as the sylph world that Messenger has weaved together for us.

THE PLOT was both fast and slow. It was at its own perfect pace and I loved that. I loved seeing Vane and Audra's relationship blossom and grow. I loved seeing how they were affected by that was going on around them. I loved everything.

And now the wretched waiting game begins for the second book. And the book ends at such a good place. It's not a frustrating I-want-to-tear-my-hair-out ending. It ended in a place that promises a great second book, but is revolves most of the major issues that rose in the book.

I don't regret taking my time with this book. Nope.

This was a really quick read and I look forward to reading the rest of the series as this book went by so fast, but there were quite a few cliches, and the wind walker people seemed suspiciously similar to air benders from Avatar. Just more tornados and weather style wind. But it was a sweet story and I'll read the rest of the series. Nothing too amazing or out of the ordinary though. Your run of the mill Lego Story with a bit more teenage angst.

I think this book was just a fun escape into a new world. I really like how even though the “world is in peril” the story seem to be upbeat and happy. (Sorry not sure if that made sense, but that is how I felt when readying the book) Maybe the warm westerly winds that swept me up. :)
