It starts to be insteresting, gains momentum but suddenly goes flat. I think the story was a bit stretched to go on a little longer but failed to engage the reader. The characters were strong & properly sketched. Although it would have helped better if the strong-army kind of attitude had continued for Kell instead of turning him into a love sick puppy. Because of it, there was no uniqueness & became like rest of the love novels where love sweeps the character off feet & acts out of character which soon becomes normal.
Overall an okay read. Wouldn't be looking at it again anytime soon.

This should be an audiobook that I enjoy but I found myself zoning out quite a bit. This plot was foreshadowed in [bc:Omega|15954434|Omega (Penton Legacy, #3)|Susannah Sandlin|https://images.gr-assets.com/books/1351086285s/15954434.jpg|20386269] so I was expecting the same kind of story or a continuation of that story. It kind of wasn’t the same bad guy etc

Mori Chastaine was part of organization accused of terrorism. They did just blow up a building with government officials and now Mori is the prime suspect thanks to her past rhetoric.

Jack "Kell" Kellison leds the investigation because he has some extra senses thanks to his shapeshifter abilities. As Kell gets to know Mori, he sees there is more to her than meets the eye. And it’s looking like someone is framing Mori.

I chose this book because I normally enjoy this author but It just didn’t keep my attention. I think the author was trying to merge a UF with a romantic suspense type storyline which was okay, but the characters didn’t really connect with me.

I like that this vampire series (Penton legacies) gave birth to one with werewolves join the fight. I just wanted more of the same gang. Mori was a tough shifter who knew what she wanted and she gave Kell all he could handle. I will try this book again in a few months and hope I can appreciate it more.

Just OK. I think I may have OD-ed on this series. I skimmed the last 10% b/c I was ready to be done but still wanted to know how it ended and didn't care about the descriptions of the bayou.

I'd forgotten that this was by the author whose vampire books I'd read so when people started shifting into animals I was a little surprised. Anyway, it was an ok story but it really didn't have much depth and it felt like she was introducing characters so she could possibly line up sequels which I find annoying.
