I've always been interested in Greek mythology and this book scratched the itch perfectly. I liked how the author described the different people and made them seem more relatable, to a point. I mean, really - if you can relate to Zeus, you might have a problem or fifty. It was interesting to see her take on the different personalities of the different gods and goddesses. The illustrations and little tidbits of information were pretty neat as well.

Audiobook. I liked the narrator’s voice and she sounded so interested in the topic, but I just couldn’t get into it. It was great to fall asleep to!

I loved the illustrations!

I have always had a love for mythology especially anything Greek/Roman mythology. When my friend brought this to my attention, I was excited. I could not wait to crack open this book and dive into the world of mythology.

Unfortunately I was disappointed by the lack of research this book should have had. Stories were short. Too short for my tastes.

The art was delightful and beautiful but the stories were terrible.

Seriously if you want to introduce your children to mythology, pick up Rick Riordan's books. You will thank me for it.

The new "National Geographic Treasury of Greek Mythology" offers timeless stories of Greek myths in a beautiful new volume. Brought to life with lyrical text by award-winning author Donna Jo Napoli, the tales of gods and goddesses such as Zeus, Aphrodite, Apollo, and Athena and heroes and monsters such as Helen of Troy, Perseus, and Medusa will fascinate and engage children's imaginations.

I listened to this book on Libby. I wanted to read this book because I don’t know anything about Greek Mythology. I’ve only read The Iliad and The Odyssey, Aeneid and Aesop’s Fables. I feel like this was the perfect book for me to read because I’m new to Greek Mythology and I didn’t know what books to read so I could start learning about it. I’ve looked at all the books that have been written about it and there’s a lot to choose from. I didn’t feel like I needed Cliff Notes to understand this book because it was very easy to understand but this isn’t the only book I’m going to read about Greek Mythology. This book made learning about Greek Mythology more approachable to me and not intimidating. I’ve been wanting to learn about Greek Mythology for awhile but every time I thought about trying to learn about it, I always felt intimidated by it because there’s a lot of information. It’s a lot to process.

I loved the illustrations in this book. This was a quick read going over greek mythology. i would have liked more detail into the stories. Some parts like the one about Medusa and Posideon were different from other stories about them but overall it was a good introduction to the myths.
