This was as addictive as The Love Hypothesis. I couldn’t put it down. I love the commentary on standardized testing. I love the Marie Curie facts. I love how clearly obsessed this man is with her. I love the sabotage and politics. I love the smut. The only reason it’s not 5 stars is much of it is SUPER predictable and one conversation would’ve cleared it all up. I don’t love that trope ❤️ But honestly will be recommending to everyone

I picked this up because I liked The Love Hypothesis. I didn't like this book, unfortunately.
I wanted to DNF early on, but didn't. I ended up enjoying more than I thought because I'm pretty empassioned on issues covered in the book, epecially standardized testing.
I dislike the height difference. It happens, but not every guy is tall. I for one wouldn't date someone 16 inches taller than me, nor do I know anyone that has that kind of height difference.
I wasn't a fan of how everything wrapped up.
And a gun? In Texas? In a NASA building? I get we have guns but Texas looks bad enough.

the "im so tiny" and "oh hes so big" is making me sick, i just imagined she was 5'9 because she was giving tall vibes idk.
the plot was soo predictable, i knew from the start levi was whatever username on twitter and that guy was shady.
the sex scenes were weird, like ajsja "open your mouth" and "good girl" boy what the hell...

i enjoyed the love hipothesis wayy more.

this book is basically 'the love hypothesis', but in a different (and more annoying) font. the marie curie trivia was a nice touch at the beginning, but there were times throughout the book where I felt it was excessive. same goes for the millenial humour and pop culture references...

bee had a super interesting profession, so it was nice to see her...actually doing science-y sh*t (this is something i feel was lacking in tlh). however, i found it hard to believe that she would be so...dumb in other aspects of her life? from self deprecation to the way she dragged out the jokes about levi hating her, she was a cringey character and i hated to see her put herself down repeatedly :(

levi felt very flat, but i will say, he and bee had great chemistry. awkwardness and overemphasis on size-difference aside, the sex scenes were hot idk

the entire third act was kind of a mess, and the reveal of the antagonist completely changed the tone of the whole book. after that, it was hard to get back into the groove of the story. yet, i'm still willing to give 'love, theoretically' a chance. if i don't like it, it may just be a sign that ali hazelwood's work isn't for me.
