This was a nice book with a somewhat sweet romance. I liked the whole idea of the book and the moments with the football players coming up with their list was funny. However, it started to feel very repetitive and started to be a bit annoying as they, though mainly Bree, doubted each other’s feelings and whether they saw them as more than just friends. Bree started to become frustrating and I just wanted their friends / her sister go to them and say the other person told me they want more just because the back and forth was getting too much and it felt like they were stuck in high school where they first met. I also wish we got more depth, getting into what Bree went through with her accident from years before and what Nathan was going through with all the pressure he felt under. This was an okay book but it felt a little too light and like it only skimmed the surface of the topics which it raised.

Was this an adult princess fairy tale? You can't convince me of anything else.

This book was written for my green peppered spice soul. She's a closed door queen that I didn't know I needed!

There's something refreshing about picking up a love story that is solely focused on the beginning stages of a connection. The constant brain jumble of wondering if they like you. The heart racing from the small touches. The anxiety of when your first kiss is going to happen. *deep sigh* The wonders of love. Sarah Adams really nails these emotions through Nathan and Bri.

The slow burn romance was what sold me... (who doesn't love a man who has a stash of your favorite candy for emergency situations) I stayed for the COMEDY! I was old man wheezing during the entire book. I want to sit in a room with Nathan, Jamal, Derek, Price and the rest of the Vegas boys just to experience all the goofball shenanigans. The scene where they are writing the love cheat sheet on the white board will live rent free in my head for the rest of my days. The "com" in this "rom" is top notch.

Also, a book that references "Friends" will always be a forever favorite in my book.

The best part about romances is that they make you swoon and cackle but they are perfect for helping you feel deep emotions. I really appreciated the focus on mental health and therapy in "The Cheat Sheet." It's so important to have a healthy and happy brain. When books translate that through their prose it makes me appreciate the story better. Bri's fear of abandonment and bad things hit close to home. It's so easy to close yourself off from love and full joy when you're fears get in the way. Opening yourself up to work on those anxieties like Bri and Nathan is so important.

I will say the ending felt very rushed. All these huge moments for Nathan and Bri happened in the last thirty pages and gave me whiplash. Losing the Super Bowl, engagement, and a wedding. It was a lot. It could have been cool to have their wedding as a bonus chapter in "The Rule Book" and have all these joyous moments be spaced out a bit more.

Last few thoughts and i'll shut the HECK UP! I immediately knew that the audiobook experience was going to be fun from the first chapter due to the variety of voices that the female narrator used but as I continued to listen I did feel like her voice got to translate immaturity which doesn't match Bri's character well in my opinion. I got a little annoyed with how high pitched and young she delivered her performance for this story. I got the point where I was beyond excited to get to Teddy Hamilton's chapters just to get a break from her. Sorry, Renee Dorian but this was not your best work.

I am beyond excited to jump into ol' party boy Derek's love story asap. "The Rule Book" is 100p an anticipated read this month and I am so ready to immerse myself in Sarah Adam's words all over again.

I knew I wasn't going to enjoy this book when on page EIGHTEEN Nathan's inner dialogue confessed that he wanted to 'just close the gap and kiss' Bree, I wondered what the hell the rest of the 300 pages were going to be about when they were already completely in love each other and I was honestly so right. I only recently got into tabbing my books and I decided to assign a colour tab to all the bits I found cringy... I used over a hundred of tabs. I haven't counted but I don't think I'm exaggerating - every double page spread had at least one tab. It just felt so forced and particularly Bree was so horrendously awkward.

This book is such a cute, light hearted read. I would definitely recommend it as a pallet cleanser if you’re looking for something easy to read and happy.

I absolutely loved Bree’s character, u thought she was so funny and goofy, and I loved having the dual perspective so we could see how much Nathan loved Bree for it.

It is definitely a slow burn romance which is why I gave it on 3.5 stars as we didn’t get to see much of them together. Again, I wasn’t a fan of the epilogue, I would’ve much preferred to see them maybe a decade in the future.
