It's getting closer for Nick to choose which university he wants to apply to, but he doesn't know what he wants to study. Since Charlie is a year younger it means they won't be going to the same school anymore. Can their relationship survive long distance?

Nick and Charlie are sweeter than ever and here they build up to taking their relationship to the next level. Oseman does a great job with showing how insecure most people are when it comes to losing their virginity. She also continues to have focus on mental health, although Charlie is doing much better now. On the whole I think that the Heartstopper books pick up a lot of important subjects that teenagers can relate to, and it's done in a way that doesn't make you feel stupid or alone. Although I'm not in the targeted audience I still love the message this series convey and I'm looking forward to the sixth and final volume - whenever it's released!

I really appreciated the asexual representation, especially as so much of the plot was focused on Nick and Charlie’s relationship developing sexually (which had been the reason I found this book less enjoyable than the previous volumes).

There is so much growth in this volume as these characters continue to work through challenges, think about their futures and try new experiences. I’m looking forward to Volume 6!

This story feels so lived in and real, it reminds me of my time in high school just before college. I appreciate the care this author puts into depicting mental health issues and representing a multitude of young, queer experiences.
