This is a very childish and for children book. While some children’s books may be enjoyable for adults, I did not find this one to be such for me. After the first story, which was painful enough, I did not feel the need to proceed.

"Underneath the soft feathers you can feel the tiny little bones of their ribs."

"As you can see, there's a little bit of everything in this world: women who beat dogs, other women who never beat them, a man who earns money killing roaches, a man who mixes some things up and invents a perfume."

"It was this: at night the fig tree's leaves would turn on as if the Sun were pouring down onto them."

"There are only two way to discover that the earth is round: either studying it in books, or being happy."

Wonderful entry point to Clarice Lispector in the form of children’s stories. They were playful and delightful to read! Excited to read more Lispector and more of the Storybook ND collection.

Felt like it was trying to be clever but missed the mark.

Fun short stories. Kinda sad for a children's book
