Well, Finlay and Vero are back at it again, solving Russian mob crimes and getting in way over their heads!

I find these very entertaining and I love to listen to the audio versions. I do have a frustration though. I find it hard to keep up with all the characters. There are so many that make sporadic appearances that I often forget who they are when they show back up. I still can't remember who Ike is?

My favorite part of this third book was, of course, that Nick and Finlay finally confessed their feelings for each other.

Im very interested in what's happened to Javi and how his and Vero's storyline plays out.

| About|

Finlay Donovan has been in messes before—after all, she's an author and single mom who's a pro at getting out bloodstains for rather unexpected reasons—but none quite like this. After she and her nanny/partner-in-crime Vero accidentally destroyed a luxury car that they may have "borrowed" in the process of saving the life of Finlay's ex-husband, the Russian mob got her out of debt. But now Finlay owes them

Still running the show from behind bars, mob boss Feliks has a task for Finlay: find a contract killer before the cops do. Problem is, the killer might be an officer.

Luckily, hot cop Nick has started up a citizen's police academy, and combined pressure from Finlay's looming book deadline and Feliks is enough to convince Finlay and Vero to get involved. Through firearm training and forensic classes (and some hands-on research with the tempting detective), Finlay and Vero have the perfect cover-up to sleuth out the real criminal and free themselves from the mob's clutches—all the while dodging spies, confronting Vero's past, and juggling the daily trials of parenthood.

Another hilarious installment of an accidental hit woman and her band of merry friends. Super enjoyed the twist and turns of this one. Finlay is super fun to read and I feel this might be the best book yet. The citizens police academy added an extra layer of fun with all the different training exercises and surprises that are stacked within. I hope to see much more of Finlay because I am not throughly invested and addicted!

Once again, the actual mysteries of these books are not what I'm here for. It's the wonderful characters, the clever dialogue, the phenomenal narration.

And this delivered. I liked the civilian police academy stuff. I'm still not sure I understand the whole EZ Clean thing. Or how Finlay realized it was the psychiatrist. But I had fun.

I'm glad Finlay and Nick finally got together and truly love their charged little moments. BUT I hated when Nick was like "If you're getting back together with Steven, I understand and I'll back off." It would seem a lot more gentlemanly if he hadn't simply ignored her every time she said she was with Julian. I get that Steven is the father of her children but come on, it's not like he has a claim to her.

But it was a great time, if a little less intriguing than the first two books.

funny mysterious

Can’t say this book went quite the way I expected, which was great! Although there were clearly suspicious people, the mystery wasn’t revealed until near the end. And somehow, Finlay makes it out again relatively unscathed.

I enjoyed the first two well enough. They weren’t profound or anything but they were entertaining. This one just didn’t do it for me though.
