Oh my, this series is a hoot. But it absolutely has to be read in order or you will not know what's going on and will miss half the jokes. In the last book, Finlay and Vera crashed a very (very very very) expensive car in their pursuit of justice, and the local Russian mob kingpin bought it for them, saving their bacon and is now owed a favor by them. He wants them to find out who the hitman "EasyClean" is ASAP. Unfortunately, all evidence points to a cop. So when openings at the Citizen's Police Academy become available, Finlay and Vera sign up for a week of being surrounded by all the cops most likely to be involved. And run by everyone's favorite hot detective Nick. Chaos, naturally, ensues. Lots and lots of glorious chaos.
The 2nd in the series was a little uneven, but this one is 5-star all the way, nothing but marvelous fun. Finlay has her usual disasters, but her brain is also functioning (some very clever bits in here). The peripheral characters are true to form, and the action is wild, and oddly believable. As I have said before, Cosimano is a master of the coincidence, well-timed and usually totally unexpected. Bliss. So very much fun.

Finlay's idea of self-care? Accidentally joining police academy training to hunt down a hitman... while dodging bullets, carpool duty, and two hot love interests. 🙃🔫
She’s got a gun, a messy life, and no idea what she’s doing — but somehow, she’s still killing it (again, literally).
Hilarious, chaotic, and full of “how is this my life??” energy. If you like your thrillers with caffeine and complete dysfunction, this one’s for you. ☕💀

A fun and light-hearted read, which kept me engaged, but I'm afraid I did find the romance element very lacking and not believable.

Vera and Finlay certainly get themselves into a lot of awkward situations! While I realise it's supposed to be light-hearted, the seriousness of the situations sometimes was often brushed over and it made me feel like actually, the plot didn't really matter. To be perfectly honest, I didn't really follow the whole plot because it was pushed aside to focus on the two getting up to trouble and the whole "will they won't they" vibe going on with the male love-interest.

I'll continue to read this series because it's fun and I don't have to really follow the plot in order to be entertained. It's a good break from the dark thrillers I read.

This series is a wild ride. It's completely ridiculous, but hilarious. I love Cosimano's writing. It's fast and witty and her characters are a good time. These books are a great quick read and perfect for travel or just a little change of pace.
