This was fine. The audiobook narrator did a good job; however, since I only physically read the last two installments I had a harder time connecting with the characters in this one because how the narrator portrayed the characters wasn’t exactly cohesive with how I had imagined them previously. Obviously no fault of anyone, they were just different takes. The book is a good time though. For me it wasn’t quite as gripping as the others. It lacked something, maybe suspense or just the fun of Finlay being mistaken for a hitman the others had? But the story leaves enough unanswered questions that there’s potential for the next one, and I will pick it up.

This book was…fine? Finlay continues to be a fun character and her life is appropriately chaotic. But the side characters have started taking on crazy lives of their own, the romance is not just a slow burn but positively glacial, and the way each book ends with another cliffhanger is losing its appeal. I’m enjoying the series but I need some resolution to even ONE subplot or I’m going to lose interest.

Dear Elle Cosimano, please write faster, I need more Finlay Donovan!
Another fun story filled with crazy antics of Finlay and Vero getting into one jam after another.

I still really like this series, Finlay and Vero get up to the craziest things, and they're so fun and entertaining, but I feel myself desiring for the conclusion to the whole mob plot and seeing everyone get their happy endings. Certain things are starting to feel a little too drawn out, and I just hope that book four will give us a satisfying conclusion to Finlay's story.

The mystery felt a little lower stakes (not sure why, but they did), and it took me about half the book to get hooked, meanwhile the first two I was hooked almost immediately. I'm also sad about Julian. I like Nick and all, he seems like the more obvious "correct" choice, but Julian really stole my heart in the other two, and I love a good age gap romance.

When I got to the finale though, I was quite surprised out how much the tension really shot up, and that cliffhanger has me excited.

Jumping back into this series after a couple years! I enjoyed the first 2 and this one as well. The author does a great job at recapping what happened in previous books (but I still googled some details). These books are great if you need something different from your typical romance, thriller, or gen fiction. They are entertaining and fun! I could totally picture this series as a show like Dead to Me or Desperate Housewives!

Least favorite of the series. Like the main characters but wished they’d finish the storyline they are in and move into some other adventure. I felt like the author was rushed to get out another in the series and so much of this one was over the top.

Super cute, curious where it is all going!
