Some genuinely spooky moments here. However, it was let down by the ending and the only native characters die. felt like the author tried to be sensitive and inclusive, but fell short. When you're not a part of the community you're writing about, you really do have to be perfect. We need more native voices sharing native stories.

I had a hard time with this book. I listened to it and the reader was good, however, I felt it really dragged on at times. It also had a very confusing ending in my opinion. I really wanted to like it, but it just didn't do it for me.

I have recently found a new love for horror and this was great. I’d give it more stars if I didn’t find supporting characters annoying and unhelpful, and I did think the story dragged on for a bit too long, I found myself wanting a solution to be found so they could move on to someone else scary. But the writing is really good and scary, so much so it stayed with me for quite some time.
