This one was so sad! But loved learning about the history of Queen Charlotte and the king. Now I need to watch this part of the series.

I love the Bridgerton series and I loved the show on Queen Charlotte. I know this was written as a companion of sorts to the show so going in I had high hopes for it. It’s the show and it’s not. There were new things woven in and things left out. But it just added to the overall story.
Charlotte of Mecklenburg-Streilitz wants nothing to do with the upcoming nuptials to the King of England. She can’t get a read on him. Is he awful? A troll? Horribly disfigured? He’s a man shrouded in mystery. But a chance meeting in the garden hours before her wedding Charlotte is pleasantly surprised to find he is none of those things. But George harbors a dark secret. One that could ruin whatever happy ending they may have. But Charlotte refused to back down. With more than just her heart at stake Charlotte must remake society. And in order to win, she must fight tooth and nail for it.
Seeing the inner workings of Charlotte and George and even Brimsley was a welcome change to how the show was done. You get to see the love and anguish they all share as they maneuver around this brand new world of theirs. It was wonderfully written as always and if you’re a fan of the show and books you’ll love this story!

I never watched the Bridgerton's. I just read the books. Maybe that is why I never felt a connection to the Queen. I didn't like the doctor in this book. I didn't really like the romance, apart from some cute moments. At least it was a short book.
