A good, stellar mystery. If you are a fan of the show, you'll like the books, though they are a touch more complex.

Best Walt Longmire book yet.
When a young Vietnamese woman ends up dead in his county, Walt starts having flashbacks to when he and Bear were in Vietnam. And things aren't pretty. He was a MP back then, and caught up in a twisted world of drugs, sex, and lies--all always common during war, right?
Enjoyed the mystery in this one, but really loved getting to know more about Walt and Bear back when they were young.

Flash back
This book contained two stories. The present day and flash backs to Nam. I enjoyed the back story. When Walt flashed back there was a title showing the flashback. The story would then come back to the present and several times I had to re-read to determine that I was not still in the flashback. I believe this was done to make it feel as if Walt had fallen in an out of the flashback, but it became confusing. I did not enjoy this story in the present day because it felt like the story did not advance other than the solving of the murder.

Another solid entry in the Walt Longmire series. Not as good as the last volume, but a solid story. This time around, we get to see Walt as as an angry young Lieutenant in Vietnam not sure of his place in life, not the chill laid-back, self-confident Walt in Wyoming. We see him solve a mystery in Vietnam and in Wyoming.
Great character in the huge Indian. Walt is a lot more palatable in this book than in #3, and the story is a lot more believable here than there, as well. I still find the "relationship" between Walt and Vic to be very tiresome, but perhaps I would feel differently had I not watched the show first. Will definitely read the next one, which is, in fact, waiting for me to pick up at the library.
