I am obsessed with everything Suzanne Wright writes. Savage Urges did not disappoint. Ryan has been hanging out as a secondary character in all of the other books and I have just been waiting for his time to come, and I LOVE that he is with Mackenna.
Broody Boy + Girl Is Terrified of needing to rely on someone = me, a very happy reader.
Mackenna has been one of my favorite characters just because of her dedication to her job.
I am immediately barreling into the next book.

I gotta say, the covers for these books are so fun they feel like early 2000's paranormal nostalgia. But do I wish the models were a bit more accurate? Yes.
I'm a sucker for a big, brooding character so I've always known I would like Ryan. He's been in the background of other books as the silent protector with scars from when he was captured and tortured years ago, and I couldn't wait for his book. It helps that the heroine is opposite him in many ways - a lone wolf (so he doesn't trust her at first), not a trained fighter (but scrappy), whimsical, superstitious. They meet after she tracks him down as a viable guardian for a runaway teen shifter she helped.
I loved Ryan's steady constant presence for Mackenna. She was scared of the prospect of mates or relying on people because she's never had anyone to rely on. This was a really fun and sweet one.
TW for abuse, torture, pedophilia/sexual abuse (not related to hero/heroine)

I think this was my favourite one. I also realized I should have started reading the Mercury pack series as I had a spoiler while reading this. Which is fine the way these books are written you know they're all going to be happy. I already know who will end up with who just by guessing!
Still loved this story. Love Ryan. Love Mackenna.
