I think the book tackles many important issues with Franco's Spain. It is a part of history that is not spoken about enough. The support that America gave the dictator, the corruption of the church, stolen babies, the demonization of the republican people. There is so much to talk about.
The story takes on these important and interesting topics, but it all felt a bit too juvenile for me, if this had been written with more of an adult tone and language I would have enjoyed it much more. but I am glad I read it, and I hope that more people read it and understand this part of history.

I read this for my English class; the writing was okay, and the end was wholesome, but the writing was really not my style and everyone else that read the book with me agreed. I would not recommend this to anyone.
