In this latest novel in the Laundry series, Stross brings together agile startup culture, category theory, and vampires (not quite the pop culture variety, though). This is as hilarious as it sounds, especially if you are in IT.

Well that went places that I didn't expect. I think I'll need to take some time before the next book to process WTF just happened.

There's a lot to love in Charles Stross' version of a vampire book, and a lot more to love about an author that manages to write a whole book about bureaucracy and actually make you love it. <3

Bob Howard is up against the one supernatural thing that does not exist: Vampires. So we are off for the same both funny and horrifying mixture of spy novel, satire on (governmental) office life and lovecraftian horror.

Very good series, and it becomes better with each installment. So already looking forward to the next book.

I liked this the least of the Laundry Files. I had trouble with enemy motivation, I didn’t understand the antagonist, and I felt it was off track tho I understand it was setting the stage.
