*Read for Queer Blackathon (June 19-21, 2021)*

I LOVE THIS! I also read Heavy Vinyl from the same author and though I enjoyed that one as well, I think this is more up my alley. I am more interested to read about sports than music, and this is about a basketball team in an Art school/University.

The opening (and ice breaker using Charlie's name) was funny -- it's literally what sold me on this graphic novel. I didn't expect this to be hilarious, but it is! Also, even after reading just this book, I can already tell that the characters (The Avant Guards) are really interesting.

I can't wait to continue on with the series!

I LOVED this graphic novel! So cute about starting at college and wanting to fit in but not really wanting to join a club or sport. Charlie caving to the super upbeat, Liv, was adorable. I loved the artwork and diversity!

I liked the colors of the cover, reminded me of Easter. Also, two females on the cover? Sold.

The storyline was cute, I’m all here for females trying to better themselves. Not sure how long the series is but if I see #2 I’ll pick it up. Although it was cute, I found the storyline to also be very cliche and campy. The characters far seem very one dimensional. The main character seems angry and moody but we haven’t found out why.

The colors in the artwork are very vibrant and the characters facial expressions match the dialogue. I like this artist a lot.

Ooohhh this sounds promising! I used to like basketball and loved a local book about basketball, I am looking forward to the next story!
