Lovely artwork, nicely captures the story in a more dramatic fashion than the book. I had a hard time getting started on Outlander many years ago -- I had written it off in my head as a bodice-ripper, but so glad I stuck with it. This is a great introduction to the series for anyone who hasn't read it (are you kidding me, you haven't read these books yet?!), just keep it away from the kids. A bit of nudity here and there!

A companion for Outlander fans, and a solid graphic novel overall. As a stand-alone, I think readers would be confused if they hadn’t read the original Outlander novel.

Hmm. This is hard to review because I am not a big fan of the graphic novel form. It was interesting seeing the slightly different take on the events of the book Outlander. It was also interesting to see visuals of many of the characters that I had a hard time picturing (or had never even really thought about). I liked the idea of this book, but I'm not really all that keen on the execution of it. I will say that the biggest problem with the book is how you could never really be sure how you were looking at -- the men all looked almost exactly alike! If you are a Gabaldon fan, it's worth a look, and I'm glad I got it and read it, but I'll probably never read it again.

I liked the story, which is basically Outlander through Jamie and Murtaugh's eyes. There's nothing really new apart from Murtaugh's encounter with an "Auld One".

The artwork is great! I really loved it! I think it was better than the Pride and Prejudice graphic novel artwork in the interior.

I won't tell you how long ago I first read Cross Stitch 🙊 Outlander - suffice to say it was many many years ago so I don't actually remember a lot of the book. As most of you will know it's a rather thick book and yet, they managed to compress and fit into a 200p graphic novel (or less if you take out the chapter breaks). I believe the main points of the story is there though there is an added dimension as this story is told not from Claire's but Murtagh. Who is Murtagh, you ask, I don't remember him at all. At all! But he is apparently Jamie Fraser's godfather and he had quite a big role in keeping this pair alive & together in this tale. So all in all, a pretty interesting perspective but I couldn't quite like the graphics themselves. I found I could barely make the distinctions between all the Scottish men! They all look the same to me except maybe for Colum but only because he suffered from a disease (actually I can't remember whether it was disease or disability but it made him distinctive in picture). And of course, there were b👀bbies everywhere you look *sighs*

I enjoyed this twist on the Outlander story. Some of the artwork took you out of the story; but it’s a fun and fresh take on a beloved book.

Far too rushed, in my opinion, though it was beautiful to look at.

Not bad for a tie in graphic novel, you can tell it benefitted from the attention of the author.
It is supposed to be Outlander from another perspective, so I would say unless you had read that one you may be confused and likely not appreciate this one so much. I was a little confused anyway, as this plot seems to imply that the "witch" may have had more going on that we thought...but never resolves this. Maybe that is something I find out in future books, but only being on book 2, it seems off.
However, the artwork was amazing, fun to see the world visually.
