Wild and not what I was expecting. Interesting. 80s, dinosaurs, aliens, much more. Would consider reading the next one. One of the characters is unnecessarily homophobic.

What the fuck was this?

Warning: this book (not this review) contrains the homophobic f-slur said by a main character. Casually and with no consequences. Idc that it fits the time.

No idea why it is labeled lgbtq+ on storygraph.

There is one gay character that gets killed off quickly.
And one of the main character is openly homophobic. The constant swearing in this is a big turn-off for me. I normally don't mind but it got so annoying. None of the characters were likable and I have no clue what the fuck is going on.

At least the art was good, but that's it.

The art work was beautiful and the colour pallet sublime. The story gave the energy of a gritty sci-fi baby sitters club (which I really liked). However, the characters left me wanting. Hopefully they get more rounded out in the following volumes.
