Flick is a 12 year old girl who has moved with her family to a village where she knows no one and feels a bit trapped in. One day she comes across a store called Strangeworlds Travel Agency and wonders inside. There she discovers she has the ability to see magic which grants her an invitation to the Strangeworlds Travel Society, a group of people who are able to travel through suitcases to different worlds with the goal to protect them all. She is guided on this journey by Jonathan, the de facto caretaker, who is only running the show because his father is missing. This book is one full of world building, but as someone who doesn't generally love world building, I was still intrigued the whole time! I can't wait for the next book in this series!

That all changes when she learns about the agency, which turns out to actually be an outpost for the Strangeworlds Society, a secret organization of adventurers who travel not simply between countries, but between *worlds*. Jonathan, the Custodian managing the agency, invites Flick to join the society. Flick soon finds, however, that as wonderful as it is to explore new worlds (and it *is* wonderful), something seems not quite right about many of the places she visits. Could that strangeness somehow be related to Jonathan's missing father?
