Ocean Master: Year of the villain is a neat little standalone story, which is part of DC's larger Year of the Villain series crossovers. It is a self-contained chapter, fleshing out the character, motivations and current status of Orm, one of Aquaman's chief adversaries, following the events of [b:Justice League/Aquaman: Drowned Earth|41391406|Justice League/Aquaman Drowned Earth|Scott Snyder|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1568668804l/41391406._SY75_.jpg|64607890].

It helps to add some meat to the character, beyond just the evil stepbrother vying for power. It's nothing too deep or contemplative, but with a simple straightforward plot, neat yet vibrant art style, and the extended worldbuilding on the lore of Atlantis, it's an entertaining read; one which sets the stage for [b:Justice League, Volume 5: The Doom War|52851441|Justice League, Volume 5 The Doom War|Scott Snyder|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1605777965l/52851441._SY75_.jpg|73245045] storyline.
