Thought-provoking commentary on the justice system as well as ethics regarding reformation. This, in addition to the totalitarian government and the exploitation of victims of that same justice system, make this an intriguing read. Burgess has made an impact on all of these themes through his 21 chapters. Frankly, I appreciated the 21st chapter, and was glad to have obtained a copy that had it included. Alex finds his own "cure" through his eventual maturation long after the attempted government intervention, and even after concluding the story I still find myself grappling with the knowledge that someone dubbed "irredeemable" by society can simply wake up one day and resign their violent lifestyle out of boredom, not guilt or repentance for their actions.

ridefinisce il concetto di thought-provoking. "e tutta quella sguana."
With the nadsat slang, the first few chapters felt like I was having a stroke when I was reading it. Coupled w the crazy violence, it wasn’t very enjoyable. But as the book went on and the story unfolded, it provided some really though provoking questions and ideas about the freedom of choice and how it relates to being human, how politics uses different people for its various messaging, the trust we put in some institutions (justified or not). Not exactly sure of all the message trying to be portrayed but reading the authors description of the book also put a lot more of it into perspective. Definitely an interesting read
