This one was fun, but the romance is so bad...I get a 12yo boy might eat it up but they would be misguided.

It was around page 140 that I realized I could no longer keep the various monsters straight and became annoyed with the story. By page 144 I had had enough of this YA novel, one both of my children adore. Monsters swimming in monster poop pushed me over the edge. I closed the book and set it aside. My children love these stories and I look forward to hearing them tell me what they love. I however am a 48 year old attorney who simply cannot find adoration in monsters wading through poop (the author's words, not mine). Give me some Nordic noir to read!
The twist so unpredictable, I have no idea why Lukecould be like that. I amuse with Nico forces, it's goddamned cool! End it well but still, left clues & mystery.

Currently rereading these after more than a decade and just had to stop and review this one. This is the best Percy Jackson book. I'll say it. The story is really good, there are twists and turns, some side love stories, many great Greek myths interwoven and the Labyrinth is the best setting yet.
