Not my favourite of the Finlay Donovan series but it was still a fun, fast-paced, chaotic romp that we’ve come to know and love from the series. I had a harder time feeling focused in this book compared to Elle Cosimano’s others, which made it hard to follow all the twists and turns, or understand how certain plot points fit together or possibly got resolved.
I will say, if all tied up in a neat little bow at the end, which has me wondering if this is the end for our dear series? Time will tell.

I enjoyed this book just as much as the third one! The pacing of this one felt ridiculous the whole way through so it was a riot to read. I’m really glad that some major story lines from the previous books have finally been wrapped up so that we can move on. Also Stephen is clueless.

At first, I wasn't confident that I would like this book. Part of that was due to the fact that it's been over a year since I read the previous book in the series, and I didn't do anything to refresh my memory about what happened, though I remembered the major events. The other part was due to the fact that the plot seemed to focus more on Vero, Javi, and their problems instead of Finlay, the mob, etc. However, when I was a little less than halfway through the book, I was able to get as into it as I'd gotten into the previous books in the series, remember all of the characters and their stories/connections, etc., which made for a much more exciting and enjoyable reading experience.

This is definitely the way to write a fourth book in a series where you need to remember what happened in the previous books.  The author did a fantastic job of reminding you what had previously happened, which was vital since it picked up right from the last book's ending.  It's possible that it could read on its own, but it definitely would be better to read the series.

As always, this series is best when listened to instead of read.  The narrator does a great job of bringing out the humor, eye rolls, exasperation, and all the other emotions that make this series so much fun.

Finlay Donovan is off on another adventure this time in Atlantic City.
The book was fun as usual, but it took a bit longer to get going and get me engaged than the other books.
Overall, I didn't enjoy it as much as the other books. Because the side characters weren't as involved, and it wasn't as funny as the previous book. I did enjoy the ending though!

Narrator Rating: 5.0 stars
The narrator did a fantastic job as usual!
