This is not all that great. Plot is overused, characters
are simple stereotypes. Just kept getting captured
over and over. In addition, the protagonist would
constantly have 'a plan' to get out of a difficult
situation but it always, always just meant it was
shoot-'em-up time. Blah. No space battles (how do they
call this space opera? ), and scenes on the various
planets were just an extension of being on earth.
Not recommended, even if a reader wants to read the
remaining two books to see how it all turns out.

Reminds me a lot of the Indranan War novels; I’ll be interested to see where this goes next.

DNF at 111 pages. I was not interested, found the story & characters boring.
If you like Firefly, you'll love Polaris Rising. I wish there was more sci-fi romance out there in the world!
5🌟 Follow Ada and Loch, two unlikely people with completely different backgrounds. Ada is the daughter of one of the most powerful people in the universe. Loch is a skilled man, and also the Galaxy's most wanted. A beautiful story of love, adventure and friendships.
I picked up this book knowing absolutely nothing about it, never heard of it. I just saw it sitting in a shelf and thought, why not? I am so completely happy I did! The part I loved the most about this book is that it presented itsself as a space/romance, but the book wasnt completely about the romance. I very much enjoyed the adventure and the world building in this book.

I read this book in one sitting. Excellent action, easy to follow plot, and sympathetic characters. Reminded me a lot of various TV episodes. A nice fluffy read, especially for fans of action romance.
My quibbles: Some of the characters are somewhat from Central Casting- Ada is hypercompetent. Also, some of the social conventions seem a bit antiquated for the future. At least I presume this is the future, as there is an Earth.

3.5-ish. The hacking and technology was mostly realistic. I was largely a fan of Ada (and I appreciated her name given the author's blurb).
I am super duper not into domineering male love interests, though. And that's what every guy in a potential couple was.
It could have been way worse - the woman was in a position of more sociopolitical power in each of the cases. That's way better than those regency romance things where he's a prince or whatever, but a lot of people were still lying to their love interests (for everybody's benefit, but they could instead take the time to talk about things some more). I think it was improving at the end.
A lot of people spent a lot of time getting captured, that got a bit old.
The world-building was a bit fast-and-breezy, especially stuff to do with politics. But I think that's a trademark of the genre...
Eh. I wouldn't hate reading the second book, but I'm not in a hurry.
