A great read full of angst and emotions. It will grabbed you from the beginning as it takes you through an emotional ride. It has great characters and connection. The journey our characters took to get their HEA.

The allure of Elizabeth O'Roark is that she puts the soul on full display. From the pain of addiction to the yearning of love, The Summer You Found Me is like exposing an open wound. Vulnerability with the strength to heal and the power to hurt.

I don’t even know what words to use for this book. It was fantastic. Elizabeth took a character who was the villain in the last book and made her someone to root for despite her flaws. I usually am not a fan of the redemption storyline but this was an emotional rollercoaster that left me utterly captivated. Kate is still a bit of a villain in this story but the amazing part is how her layers are pulled back and we learn some of her history, my heart actually was breaking for her. Her growth was about overcoming external challenges as well as conquering inner demons and embracing vulnerability. As we learn more about Kate and her addiction you can see where all her problems stem from. Beck was such a sweet, patient man. He battles his feelings for Kate in the past and the present but with her back and trying to change, he can’t seem to let her go. I enjoyed seeing the way he supported her. The way that man loved her for who she is and wanted the best for her ❤️

This was a heavy story and tackled a lot of issues and had a heroine who was not always her best self. The angst in this story was one of my favorite parts, There is also a lot of growth and second chances.

This was painful to read only bc wow do you want to just hate Kate so bad for being so selfish and immature. But she was just someone who was grieving in the worst way. I actually loved the ending though and think that she did what she needed to do to redeem herself
