This novella was alright, but I really didn't think it was necessary to our understanding of the story. So I understand that it affected her and that she couldn't cry so it was a "glitch", but that could have honestly been added to Cinder and it would have been fine.

As a short story, it doesn't seem to stand on it's own well. But it was nice as an additional part of the authors Lunar Chronicles book series.

It's an insight to the life of 11 years old Cinder after her accident. We meet for the first time Garan (Cinder's step-father) and we are witnessing the birth of a new Cinder, mechanic and Cyborg.

Weeell, I knew this would be sad, but it still made me a lot sadder than I expected. Why does Adri have to be such a horrible person? (because she's the evil stepmother from Cinderella, I know, but still...).
And Cinder. My poor baby. I love her so much. I just wanna hug her. A lot. I would have loved for this to be longer. I am actually pretty interested in Cinder's life before the book series, so this was an interesting insight.
